The Hitachi 37LD8600 is £900 giant screen HD budget TV. With a whole range of passable features. In comparison to Bush and Goodmans the TV looks robust and has a good feel to it.

As you will find after reading this story that in today’s world if you want the best you are required to pay for it. The more you pay better are the features and the quality.

First thing that will strike you is that this TV has just one HDMI input hardly acceptable in a world where we are fast moving to Blu-ray and HD-DVD. But you can find an additional HDMI plug for a cost of £100.

There is no digital tuner in the TV and the analogue Tuner is a bit to harsh on pictures. Analogue tuner produces lack-luster colors, murky smeared movements and is unusually dark in dark scenes (To view what’s happening you have to increase brightness to unusual levels).

Only two Scarts slot and no CI slots itself indicate the absence of Digital Tuners. The HD ready status gives TV compatibility to 720 p and 1080i HD formats with a high pixel count of 1366×768. But if you feed it with high definition signal you will see a mark difference in picture quality and colors which again stresses the need of a digital tuner in this TV.

Why would you like to buy this TV will depend on the requirements that you are looking for if you are getting your TV feed from Sky Digital and Digital cable Broadcasters then you might consider it as TV gives a pretty decent performance but if you will end up watching whole of the content on Analogue tuner then my friend this is not what you are looking for.
