OPPO Digital’s DV971H, which received an award for the Record-Breaking 98 in the Secrets Of Home Theater and High Fidelity DVD Benchmark has been upgraded by the company. OPPO has launched the new version named OPPO DV-981HD, which is packed with a number of new outstanding features. The DV-981HD HD DVD Player includes a HDMI digital output rather than the DVI output that was on its predecessor. In addition to that the player also features true 1080p output and adds multi-channel SACD audio support. Both the players provide you with the best ever upscaling and deinterlacing capabilities as both of them use the same Genesis/Faroudja chipset for the excellent image quality. I think that if both the players are using the same basic technology and the only difference is in the output ports then it should get a perfect 100 score in the test conducted and should be able to break its own record. The new models DV-981HD is priced at $229, but if you do not have a HDMI connection port on your Television then you should still go in for the $199 DV971H model, which still features the standard Analog Outputs. All in all the product is all set and has all the qualities to be a big hit in the market.
