Canadian HDTV owners will be delighted to hear that they will de able to make stunning HD views of the Earth. Discovery HD will present a 30-minute commercial-free HD broadcast - including approximately 20 minutes live from the International Space Station on November 15th.

The event as been made possible by a Sony HD 750A camera and special new HD transmission hardware which was delivered by Space Shuttle Atlantis in September to the international space station. This camera can present the viewers with clear images of the astronauts and their daily routines.

The viewers will be addressed by NASA Commander Michael Lopez-Alegria, assisted by crewmates Thomas Reiter of the European Space Agency and Russian Cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin during the program.
Viewers of standard definition will not be able to watch the program.
