Samsung showcased a horde of new LED-lit panels at the 2007 International Conference and Exhibition on Display LEDs (ICDL) in Seoul. The high end model was a 40-incher LCD panel that features 500 cd/m2 of brightness, 180-degree wide viewing angle, and 1366 x 768 pixel 720p HD resolutions. And yes, it offers 100,000:1 contrast ratio, thanks to the local dimming LED backlighting. Samsung also displayed a 30-inch LED-backlit model destined for the PC market that boasts 16.7M colors LCD, 300cd/m2 brightness, 6ms response, 180-degee wide viewing angle, 900:1 contrast ratio.
