If we take a current look at the virtual war between HD DVD and Blu-ray in terms of movie releases, HD DVD seems to be a sole winner. The situation might be different next year. The good news for the Blu-ray fans is that Sony has planned to release atleast two movies on the 50GB Blu-Ray discs by the end of this year.
With more and more movies heading for the HD DVD release, the Blu-ray is feeling the heat of stiff competition. Sony executives stated that some blockbusters could possible look better in Blu-ray format. Testing is under process and we would be able to see the results with our own eyes by the end of this year.
The war between HD DVD and Blu-ray will surely take a new turn by the end of 2006 but at the moment, HD DVD takes away all the charm.
