For now, we need to sit back a while to watch our latest movie premier on commercial Blu-Ray discs. Nevertheless, Sony has atleast made it possible to do the same with 50GB Blu-Ray discs (50GB BD-R recordable media for usage with Blu-ray burners).
The announcement of 50GB Blu-ray discs is unquestionably a benchmark in Blu-ray history with its AccuCORE technology that fends off the risk of the disk being smashed or deformed. Personally, I would love to enjoy my MPEG-2 movies on Sony’s 50 GB BD-R instead of viewing it with HD DVD.
Well, the frugal fellows need to think of buying one as the single disc is going to cost you $48. Anyways, I am fervently waiting for the full-fledged Blu-ray movie discs to hit the market so that I can whet my appetite to watch the movie at its best on my big screen.
