Soon after the launch of its 42WLT66: a 42in LCD TV, which was highly appreciated by the users, Toshiba has launched a 47 inch LCD that blends the current fascination with ‘full HD’ 1,920 x 1,080 panels at a groundbreakingly low price. Toshiba 47-inch Regza 47WLT66 will costs you just US$2,530. This affordable product features full-HD 1920 x 1080 native resolution, 800:1 contrast ratio, 550cd/m2 brightness, dual HDMI inputs, a built-in digital TV tuner, and PC-input.
Still, the reason behind the low price of the TV is well reflected by its built quality, as screen bezel feels like made of plastic and it has a dull dark gray color scheme. Moreover, a four-pin S-Video input is also missing. A digital audio output is also omitted from the design. Even after all these flaws, the product offers a sense of the ‘full HD difference’ with its Active Vision LCD image processing.
I rate the product much better than its rivals Sony’s 46X2000 or Pioneer’s PDP-5000EX as this one can fit well into my budget and its sleek design makes it perfect for my living room.
